Summary: Follow a sample as it arrives at the Diagnostic Services Unit (DSU) to understand how samples taken from an animal on farm become the results to diagnostic tests in our unit and discover how your results contribute to multiple animal health surveillance initiatives, supporting the health of provincial and national herds and the implications for all.

Summary: This presentation will showcase the upgrades to Cowbytes Ration-Balancing Software, with a strong focus on expanded functionality, updated nutrition inputs, and the transition to a fully online platform. Attendees will get a walkthrough of the new program to see how it has been updated. BCRC will also highlight the benefits of moving online – greater accessibility and easier future updates – making Cowbytes a more powerful and future-ready solution for beef cattle ration balancing.

Time1:45 PMEventMain Event Hall South Olds College Presents: Evaluating Virtual Fencing in Adaptive Grazing Systems, hosted by Brianna Elliot Summary: Brianna will present applied research from an Olds College led project evaluating virtual fencing within adaptive multi paddock grazing systems in Alberta. Conducted at Tri L Ranch near Nanton, the study compares the eShepherd system to conventional electric fencing across cost, labour and usability. Key findings will highlight cattle adaptation to virtual boundaries, changes in labour requirements, and the practical value of the technology under commercial conditions, including where it fits within existing grazing systems.
