This work encompasses two ergot research projects, led by Dr. Kim Stanford at the Beef Feed and Food Safety laboratory.
What benefits can producers expect from this research?
This research will be the start of a thriving Beef Research Program at the University of Lethbridge, making possible attracting industry funding for new studies, training students, attracting both internal and external collaborators, and contributing to the sustainability of the Alberta beef industry. All segments of the Alberta beef industry will benefit.
How will these research findings reach producers on-farm?
Results will be presented at beef industry events such as the Saskatchewan Beef Industry Conference, Alberta Beef Industry Conference, International Symposium on Beef Cattle Welfare, and other workshops/seminars.
