The project will begin immediately, and will use industry surveys, producer interviews, and on-farm evaluation of prototype hardware and software to deliver solutions that support Alberta’s livestock producers retaining, and strengthening, their leadership in traceability and sustainability.
“RDAR seeks out and is proud to invest in innovative research ideas that will help Alberta’s ag industry compete on a global scale. Flokk Systems development of a “SmartAg” digitized solution to cow/calf record management will enable Alberta producers to have on-the-ground, real-time access to herd data, helping them to realize efficiencies and make improved management decisions.” — Clinton Dobson, RDAR Director of Research
“RDAR’s support is vital to early stage Ag Tech companies like Flokk. The outstanding support we have received from leaders in Alberta’s Ag Innovation space such as Olds College, Alberta Innovates, NRC and RDAR demonstrates the broad commitment to, and opportunities available to, Alberta’s SmartAg entrepreneurs.” — Mark Olson, President Flokk Systems
With a concept developed on a ranch in Dogpound, hardware and software designed in Mountain View County, and prototypes built by Solarbotics in Calgary, Flokk is committed to engaging Alberta’s Agriculture community to build and validate digitization solutions that are competitive globally.
