Edmonton, AB, January 21, 2026 – RDAR (Results Driven Agriculture Research) is proud to announce that the RDAR Board of Directors has unanimously conferred the honorary title of Past Chair on Dr. David Chalack, D.V.M., ICD.D, who has served as Chair for over 5 years, bringing outstanding contribution, vision, dedication, and significant service to RDAR and Alberta’s agricultural sector.
Since RDAR’s establishment in 2020, Dr. Chalack has led RDAR through its formative years, establishing a new benchmark for producer-led, results-driven agricultural research in Canada. Under his leadership, RDAR championed producer-driven initiatives, built transdisciplinary partnerships, and spurred innovation across Alberta’s agriculture sector. Today, RDAR has invested over $125 million in more than 580 research projects, strengthening the profitability, productivity, and sustainability of Alberta’s producers.
The board’s decision, made at its January 7, 2026, meeting, recognizes Dr. Chalack’s exemplary governance, deep sector experience, and commitment to mentorship and continuity. The honorary Past Chair ensures governance continuity and preserves institutional memory, providing mentorship and support to the new Chair and Board. Dr. Chalack will continue serving RDAR as an advisor, contributing to RDAR’s committees, and maintaining RDAR’s profile by engaging with producers and influencers in Alberta agriculture.
A proud Albertan, Dr. Chalack has dedicated his career to advancing the development and sustainability of agriculture. His expertise spans dairy production, genetics, veterinary medicine, and international agribusiness. He has chaired several boards, including the Calgary Stampede and Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency, and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
On receiving his honorary title, Dr. David Chalack, RDAR Past Chair said: “It has been an honour to serve as RDAR’s Chair during these foundational years.
