Thermoresilience in Beef Cattle: Understanding and managing environmental stressors to enhance productivity
Dr. Gleise Mederios da Silva's research focuses on production strategies, with particular emphasis on mitigating the impacts of common stressors, such as weaning and environmental challenges, to enhance cattle health, performance, and profitability, especially within the cow–calf sector.
Livestock Gentecs
Team members Dr. John Basarab, Dr. Everestus Akanno, Dr. Chinyere Ekine-Dzivenu and Jordan Roberts will be in attendance to discuss their research projects on adoption and development of genomic tools for the beef industry. The Gentec team will share practical tips on how to leverage genomic tools for improved profit, how we are using producer data to measure genetic progress through use of genomics along with a demo of tissue sample collection equipment and a simple DNA extraction.
